I love fandom, because most of the time you can ask stupid questions and not get mocked in your comments. I love how in fandom most people respect journal spaces.

I dislike a lot of forums, because they are not like fandom. It really makes me sick sometimes when I go looking for expat information (like tax information), wind up on a site where people just bash each other, and post racist content. -__-

It's only Thusday. :(

Since I've come back from the States I drink more coffee now. I don't drink a ton, but I am drinking it more than I am used to. I also frequent more cafe's now, even though they tend to be pricy (think 2.50 - 3.00 for a cup of americano). I go maybe once or twice a week out, so I can sit and draw. The thing I hated about Paris was how fucking slow it all was. The great thing about Korea is that it indulges, but then it's a constant ping pong game of doing things. I guess pretty much that east Asia is like that.

I'm working on my Snarry Games entry, and it's going pretty good. (Go team snitch!)

I'm also planing my trip to Hong Kong in August. I really wanted to go to Azkatraz this year, but my break is only in August (with another in January). So Hong Kong it is, with the last Disney Land on my list. This will mean I've been to all five within the last 10 years! I went to Disney California when I was 13, again to Disney World this last January, Disney Paris May 2007 and Tokyo Disney last year.

Since I teach extra classes, I might be able to pay for my trip with overtime. I'm also thinking about going back to Disney Tokyo during one of my mini vacation breaks (x-mas, or chusok).

I hope that my plans in January don't fizzle either. I'm hoping to go to Barcelona and meet up with one of my good friends. :)

/: IDK Brain, we have to have a talk

Dear Brain,

You're incredibly perverse. I know right now I probably have ungodly amounts of hormones going wild, but seriously, sex dreams featuring Peter Jacobson ? Can't you be like a normal brain and focus on someone more.... IDK like Hugh Jackman, or Alan Rickman ala 1980's?

We are never getting our hair cut again if you don't stop this nonsense. Just because you feel a little bit pretty, does not mean I'm going to let you give me weird dreams like this again.

Sincerely,
Moi

ranty pants this morning~

One thing that really, really irritates me now more than ever, is the oversimplification of Asian culture. I can't stand certain stereotypes, good or bad about asain culture. Just like I can't stand stereotypes about American/Canadian/British/etc. culture. Seriously, don't garner all your information from media sources. It's fun to watch movies, tv, or read comics/books. Just don't believe everything you see or read.

I had a coworker last year who would consistently talk about US politics and the US. Unfortunately this individual seem to have garnered all his information from things like CNN and pop culture. Many times my Canadian coworker and I would have to gently break it to him to stuff it.

I feel that way about people who talk about places in Asia, like it's a mythical place.

Fact- Asain nations have lots of problems too. They have a lot of good points and bad points, just like back at home!

It's been bothering me for a couple of days. There was an article in the English language news paper a few days ago, by a moronic expat, telling about how western ideas (Like teh gays and all that) are destroying Korean society. How much better Korean society is to everywhere else, yada yada yada.

Then I woke up this morning to someone taking about Memoir's of a Geisha. That book irks me because geishas were almost never prostitutes. During the occupation, you could hire prostitutes that looked like geishas, but they were not geishas!

Climb every mountain~

Eh. One thing I don't like about facebook is the fact that it suggests people to you. Therefore, people who you don't want to talk to can request to be friended.

Sometimes it's a good function, because you can find lost friends, or cousins you haven't talk to. Other times it's bad because lost friends can find you, or your family can find you.

I have a problem now. I don't talk to my father, because he's a sleaze bag, to put it nicely. Now, one of his sisters would like to friend me. I have nothing against her, but she is still my father's sister.

I don't want people interfering with my non-talking to my father. It's been almost 10 years since I've seen him, and frankly, there is nothing he can do/say that would make me change my mind. The problem with that side of the family is that, there is always the possibility that they'd pressure me to reconcile, or try to talk to me about him.

I frankly don't want to. I don't even want to hear about this. I've made my choice, and frankly he might have sobered up, but he's done little else to redeem himself. It's bad enough I see him on my sisters facebook.

Now my problem is, how do I politely tell my family I frankly do not want to talk to them, because their related to someone I loath?

Damn you Facebook, damn you.

I am a moron.

yup. I am a moron. I officially have interwebs now, but have manged to break my cd drive, because I shoved a mini cd in my slot loading combo drive. WHY DID I DO THIS? It was obviously stupid, yet I couldn't stop myself. Hmmmm.

*weeps out of stress and the thoughts of internet leechers*

ooooohhhh shiny!

I managed to win a Dreamwidth account, with their open I.D random drawing. So if you are over here (there) please be adding http://cnary_crem_dght.dreamwidth.org/

I was thinking about a new name, but decided against it. :/ I'm just not that creative. ^_^

As for the interwebs, I had to wait for the guy to show yesterday, and he never showed! BOOO to that. My router has power though, so I don't know if they were actually coming, or just decided to turn the switch on. meh. We will soon find out, then comes the next step, searching for a mac compatible router in a country that is pc dominate!

I wish I had more time for art recently, the good news is saturday I will be drawing again. I can't post the details yet, but I will soon!

Apr. 13th, 2009

I know Dreamwidth.org codes are a very hot commodity now, but if anyone can send one my way, I'd be grateful. :) Very grateful.

Also, new who. :B The doctor and the future! )

Traditional media fanart

Before I left, I had about an hour to myself in order to scan art that I had done by hand.

All of these are not work safe. (NWS) Come see my sad attempts at colored pencils )

I'm trying to draw more by hand, but who knows when I'll have a scanner next. :)

venting~ it's not just for houses.

Most days it seems like one thing after another. 2009 must be the year of the continual cosmic joke. Please, throw some more crap at me. I really love shifting through ridiculous bureaucracy, waiting for morons to issue a visa I should have had a weeks ago.

Can March be over now?

Mar. 15th, 2009

Yea, I hate dem love songs.

Just a little disclaimer:

These are just my thoughts, they don't reflect the thoughts of anyone else. I'm not trying to encourage or discourage anything here, I'm just voicing my thought process.

Big Bang is VIP, or why Big Bang fests make me twitch: A fan artists perspective. )

On a lighter note, I find it hilarious that these fests are called "XXXXXX Big Bang", because it just makes me think of the K-pop group, Big Bang. The cut text (Big Bang is VIP) comes from one of the groups slogans. All the 13 year old girls in Korea have it on their hands. It makes me want to go over the countable vs. uncountable nouns with them over and over.

mmmmmm....

This has been sitting on my hard drive for quite a while. I'm not big on next gen, but I had an evil idea and ran with it.

G is for gen, as well as other things.. (Albus Severus, Scorpius, Unnamed fish I like to think of as goldfishy.) )

This is probably the first and last piece of next-gen I'll do, unless I'm slashing them with Snape of course. mmmmmmm Snape.

*dances*

I got my Springsmut. I got my springsmut. woot woot.

Fallen Far From the Tree (albus severus/severus, severus/harry) . I hope whoever wrote this is on my flist. *huggles* to you if you did.

It's got headmaster!snape, which is awesome. It's long!fic, but good. Snape's voice is what makes this piece stand out. He is also the professor of cunning at cunning university in this fic.

It is a little disturbing, so please do heed the warnings. I like my fics dark, and this one dabbles in the dark, but keeps it interesting.

In other news, I've been away for a long time, visiting friends and meeting up with select fen. I had a really good week. This week I will spend waiting for my documents to go through and cleaning out.

In the future I may sell off some sketches and small paintings. I'll post a list here of some of my more fanish drawings I wish to get rid of, as well as some of the cheaper paintings I'll be trying to get rid of. I feel the need to purge the clutter and history of my art making, along with other items of my teenage/college years.

Feb. 3rd, 2009

Hola~

A few weeks ago I closed my website, due to the fact that I will not maintain it. It's too much time and effort on my part. However, a select amount of Snarry art can be viewed at Walking the Plank. As for the rest.... I still have to figure out what to do with it. Maybe I'll put it up on my Y!gallery account that has been inactive for a while. Hmmmmmm.

Also, for those of you who might have missed it Sunset Glow NWS, NC-17 at [info]snary_swap.

In the near future [info]hp_springsmut will begin and I have decided to participate.

I had a particularly sad dream the other night, reflecting on my passion for art dying. It's not actually dead, dead, but I have come to find some peace in the death of the amount of art I was doing.

In actuality I have drawn more in the recent months, but most of it sits on my HD, because I don't want to share most of it.

It's only -1 outside right now! Huzzah?

Yesterday was amazing despite waking up to -3F weather.(that's about -184872092384 C) Most of it was RL stuff, but I also received this:

Dark Desires by [info]fbowden
It's NC-17 with non con, violence, dark themes, character death (not Snape or Harry).
http://asylums.insanejournal.com/snarry_swap/28641.html

Why should you read it?
- It's good.
- It's really good.
- The characterization of Snape is rather good. He's a 'good' guy ( I use the term loosely), yet underneath lies a bit of his obsessing personality traits. The slight edge to Snape makes this fic worth while.
- Because you love me. Seriously, trust me. You know you want to. :B
- The tone is very well balanced. It's manages to skirt around being a cliche, with it's vivid description of what is taking place, and the reaction of the characters against one another.

so the link once again is:

Off-Topic

I've actually been in a Karaoke (Nori in Korean) Taxi. One time in Daegu when I was out with some friends, we hailed a cab from the outskirts of the city to the center... It had a machine in the car. The Driver was belting out tunes. Also, in the town I lived there were one or two taxi drivers who spoke English fairly well. One of them loved to belt out Simon and Garfunkel off key for the duration of your ride. It was special.
