Is it just me or is anyone else sick of fests?

There are a few that I will definately do, but I think that for a while (maybe the whole year) I'm just going to do prompt based challenges.

	I'm not even a participant and I'm sick of fests. I know I should be grateful, but I feel overloaded by the sheer volume of fantastic stuff out there and ungrateful because I know how hard everyone has been working and still comments are down. 	Yes I've seen a lot of people disappointed about responses, but honestly fannish response hasn't been what it was before, so I wasn't expecting much in the way of comments. Especially since the split of LJ. No matter which site you hold something on, someone is upset with your choice. (Reply to this) (Parent)

I have to say that does seem to be the common emotion at the moment. I never thought I'd see the day there was too much art/fic/porn and I couldn't keep up with it all.

As for the writers/artists, even more so, almost having to crank out yet another piece. I'm sure some people are up to the challenge but I would think others were stretched a bit thin. It's really a shame there are so many at Christmas.

I participated in my first and only and it didn't go as well as I'd hoped. So I will definitely be sitting on the sidelines for a while.

	I'm sorry that it didn't go as well as hoped. Many people felt that way about the fest this year because there were too many and people were kind of blaze about reading/responding. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	Maybe ignore fandom until the Snarry Art Games? XD I mean pffft Fic, we all know you're in it for the art and artist ;D Yea right now I go to work, come home, finish work stuff then collaps and sleep. Hp is very low on my list and right now I'm weighing to get ride of some of my commitments. (Reply to this) (Parent)

Gets me to draw more and push myself into different media.

However, yeah, I can understand where you're coming from. Personally, I'm only in a few of them, and I didn't do any over the holidays. It's just too much of an obligation during a hectic time.

In terms of reading them, however, I am very selective about the ones I actually read through. Some are amazingly fantastic, and some are godawful. And I can't afford to read through everything that's posted. For the most part, I go by things people recommend and read those. I do look at all art, however. ^_^

	Yea I have only read fic recced to me or written by people I trust. I guess since the trend of HP is now "I want to do something in the community, I will make a fest" mentality. So I pine for the days of different kinds of fests. :\ (Reply to this) (Parent)

It's funny you should post this because I was thinking the same way. For some reason, with so much fic out there, so many pairings and such, I'm actually gravitating to other fandoms I had wanted to read fanfic in. And I feel guilty about it, because I still have yet to catch up smutmas, bestmates, lupin_snape, and hd_holidays. Now we we have hp_wintersmut, snarry_swap, hp_wankfest, and just, there's SO much that I'm getting sick of the fic, yeah. But what I find helpful is that when get sick of the fanfic, read fic in another fandom 9if you have another one), and then you'll feel the want and itch to read Hp fanfic. I know it's like that for me. Lol!

Anyway, totally out of subject...but...I can't stop looking at your icon! OMG! Please tell me you ship those two as well?! And isn't Septimus THE Snape?! OMG! It's funny because I was watching HP5 with my young cousin (a fellow Snape lover, and she's only 11! *loves her*) and then we watched Stardust and the first thing that came out of our months at the same time, "Omg, it's Snape!" when we saw Septimus. LOL! I SO need to find some fanfic with those two. ;) I could so see them as Harry and Snape, hehehe.

^_^ Yea I've actually been basking in the nostagia of my past interest in anime. So Hp is just like *look at friends list, worry that I will be able to keep commitment, go off and do other things*

I would love to ship them, but I don't know the stardust fandom well, nor do I have the inclination to draw lately. I got to watch stardust on a plane recently. Made of so many winz. I totally agree Mark Strong should be Severus!

Hehe, that's where I'm sinking my teeth into currently. Especially Loveless. But there's Ai No Kusabi, Gundamn Wing, Kizuna, Mirage of Blaze...and there's some other fandoms I've been wanting to read fic in too.

I haven't even checked the Stardust fandom yet. It's always kind of scary treading into new territory, for me anyway. But I may just look for it. I'm feeling the only fics may be on fanfiction.net. *groans*
